HEINRICH Heinz 1922-

On September 13, 2022 Heinz Heinrich departed this life, peacefully in his home in Hudson. Heinz had reached the milestone of 100 years of age earlier this year.
Heinz was born and raised in the Bohemia region of Czechoslovakia and, after emigrating to Canada in 1939, completed his education at McGill University in 1944 with a degree in chemical engineering. During World War II he served with the Canadian government Trans-Atlantic Air Service. After a postwar career with Trans-Canada Air Lines (Air Canada) he set up his own aviation consulting business in 1960. Over the next four decades he advised a diverse clientele of governments and industry on all six continents. Heinz resided in Hudson, Quebec for over half a century and was active in community affairs as a town councillor, member of the local residents association and member of the Hudson school board. He was an active skier on the Laurentian slopes and a keen tennis player at the Royal Oak Tennis Club.
Heinz is survived by Gwendolyn (née Ford), his beloved wife of 76 years; by their cherished sons Mark (Charmian), Christopher (Josiane) and Jeffrey (Donna); by grandchildren Carl, Anthony, Dorothy, Thomas and Luke; and by dear relations in Austria and Germany. To celebrate Heinz’s life, a service will be held October 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church in Hudson, livestreaming at youtu.be/9eXKNWpfByY.
Anyone wishing to make a charitable donation in Heinz’s memory is invited to do so to NOVA Hudson and to the Montreal Association for the Blind, whose professionalism and dedication he so greatly admired.
