Heather Dawn Craig April 28th 1948 June 19th 2022

It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the light of our lives – Heather Dawn Craig of Sarnia, Ontario, at the age of 74, on Sunday, June 19th 2022. She will be lovingly remembered and missed so dearly by her partner and soul mate, David Carroll of Sarnia, her son Kris Craig (Karine) of British Columbia, her daughter Lisa Arnold (James Arnold), her cherished & precious grandson Hunter-James Arnold, all of Sarnia, Ontario. Her beloved brothers and sisters will mourn her passing so deeply, Sandra Cardinal (Bob) of BC, Kenny Ralph of Newfoundland, Stephen Ralph (Ethel) of Florida, Valerie Babensee (Bill) of Midland, Ontario and Tania Bruce (Dale) of Florida. As well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert (Bob) Craig, and her parents Hank & Ivy Ralph. Heather was born and raised in Montreal with her family; all together 6 children and her two loving parents. They had a wonderful life, and she met her first husband there and they eventually came to Sarnia for work and to build a life together, where they raised two children; Kris and Lisa. Heather was a stay at home mom until her children were grown and then worked as a pharmacist assistant until she retired. Heather travelled to BC and then back home to Sarnia where she then met her knight in shining armour David. Heather and David shared a beautiful life living in both Sarnia and her “dream home” in sunny Florida surrounded by her loving mother, sisters and brothers – 6 months of the year. This was her happy place. These years were some of her happiest moments and joys of her life. Heather was the most wonderful, thoughtful and nurturing mother (mommy) to both her children and she filled them with wisdom and guidance, strength and perseverance. She was so deeply loved for by her family and friends because of her most courageous, joyful, pleasant nature and her ability to see the good in EVERYTHING. She had the most positive outlook on life, living each hour to fullest, never taking anything for granted and seeing the awe in all of life’s most greatest and simplistic moments. She was an amazing spirit of a woman, who inspired us all, she brought the light to the room with her most glorious smile and positive energy. Her eyes glowed, her energy soared and she could heal the world with her radiance. She was the ultimate fashionista, she could dance like no other and enjoyed golf, bowling, travelling, boating, fishing, spending time at the ocean or the bay up north by a campfire, music, finding treasures, eating a delicious meal, being surrounded with her friends and family and yelling a good bingo or hitting the jackpot. Watching her grandson grow up and spending time with him was priceless to her. She was a true believer in the universe, in Jesus, and she was a wise counsel and listening ear for all of us as she taught us how to love, live and appreciate life to its fullest. She was our storyteller, secret keeper, advice giver, best friend, warrior, hero and she taught us all to never give up, stay strong, walk with confidence, and to just let yourself go with the flow of life. A few of her most treasured words of advice she would always remind us of…
“Wait to worry.”
“There’s a reason for everything.”
“The Universe will only give you what you can handle”
“In God’s hands I can do anything”
Our beautiful, sweet, shining light Heather, you will live in our hearts, words and actions for the rest of time. Rest easy now. No more suffering or pain for you, only joy, happiness and your beautiful smile to carry with your angel wings. You will forever be the “wind beneath our wings.” Cremation has taken place through Smith Funeral Home. A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held at a later date. We wish to extend our extreme gratitude to the nurses on Pallative Care at Bluewater Health as well as Dr. Maddison and his team. You made her feel as comfortable as possible during her final week here on this Earth, and thank you to the team at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia for taking care of her in her final moments. God Bless you all. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca
