Obituary
Harvey Symchych was born on December 5, 1932, in the rural municipality of Gilbert Plains. On September 27, 1956, Harvey married Shirley Martinson and they enjoyed 64 wonderful and happy years together.
For many decades Dad was a skilled auto body repairman and painter. However, at heart Dad really loved to farm. He can remember farming with horses before he was a teenager and he was still driving a tractor and combine until 2020. Therefore, for over 75 consecutive years he was involved in seeding and harvesting a crop.
Dad deeply loved our kind heavenly Father and always tried to do his best in obeying and worshipping him, being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 6, 1942.
Harvey died at home on September 3, 2022, and interment will be held at a private graveside service at Eldon Cemetery in Gilbert Plains.
Harvey was predeceased by his loving wife Shirley; parents Michael and Rose; father-in-law Raymond; mother-in-law Elsie; brother Edward; sister Stella (Walter); brother-in-law Tony; nephew Darin; and niece Raylene (Edward).
Harvey is survived by his three sons, Brian (Glennis), Wayne (Loretta), and Kerry; brother Sidney (Marlene); sisters Adeline (Walter), and Diane; sister-in-law Betty; brother-in-law Kenneth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
