Obituary of Harriet Stapleton
Harriet (Corbett) Stapleton, 85, passed away early Saturday morning, April 23, 2022 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Five Islands, she was a daughter of the late Lisby and Lydia (Stewart) Corbett.
Harriet was an army wife for 25 years in Oromocto (Gagetown, NB). She worked at the Royal Sweets Restaurant, New Glasgow and MacLeod’s Restaurant, Westville. She then went on to work at Glen Haven Manor for 25 years until retirement. She was a member of St. Paul United Church, Westville. She will be sadly missed, she loved her home and family and cherished dog Maggie.
Harriet is survived by sons Michael and Robert; daughter Victoria; and grand daughter Rebecca. She is also survived by brothers Ernie, Layton and Joe and sisters Muriel and Isabelle.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Miller Stapleton; grandson Joshua Boudreau; daughter-in-law Vera Stapleton; sisters, Mabel, Alma, and Dolly; and brothers Harold Johnson, Eli, Stanley, Wallace and Doug Corbett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rivera, the V.O.N. and the Palliative Care Unit for making Mom’s last few days comfortable. Family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 28 from 2-4 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Diabetes Association of Canada.
