Obituary of Harold Archibald Raymond Bowers
Harold Archibald Raymond passed peacefully away in the early morning hours of Sept. 7th at the age of 84 in the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Predeceased by parents Cecil and Maude Bowers, brothers Fred (Alice) Poole, George (Leah), Arthur (Alma), William (Uldine), and Chester (Joyce) Bowers, sisters Roberts (Harry) Brace and Pearl
(David) Ralph, parents-in-law Wilfred and Effie Osmond, brothers-in-law Donald Osmond and Lloyd Gatehouse, and faithful furry companion Sid.
Leaving to mourn are his wife of 59 years Betty, daughters Barbara (Paul), Natalie (Austin), Lori and Krista, granddaughters Kayla (Anthony), and Diana (Tyler), and great-grandchildren Aurora, Presea,
Jackson, and Noah. Also survived by brother Reginald, sisters Leona and Myrtle, many nephews and nieces, and members of the Osmond family.
Harold was born in Windsor on Nov. 10th, 1937. At the age of 19, he began working in Cabot Bakery and continued in the baking industry until retiring at 71. He took great pride in his work and will
be remembered for his bread baking skills. He was also an avid gardener and could usually be found in his garden caring for his numerous fruit trees and hostas. Like most members of the Bowers family,
Harold had a sweet tooth and was not one to turn down a piece of chocolate or cake (baked by a certain amatuer baker). His sense of humor and quick laugh will be greatly missed, but not soon forgotten.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the ER and 3A Floor staff at the hospital for their tireless care and support during his final days. A special thank you to the Hoskins Funeral Home for
their kindness and compassion at this difficult time. Also, we want to express our deepest thanks to his nieces and nephews who have helped through the past few years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Harolds name can be given to the charity of ones choice.
John 16:22 ESV- So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Harold
