Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Guy Lucien Roy announce his peaceful passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL on Tuesday, September 27th at the age of 80 years.
Leaving to mourn: his wife of 54 years Kathleen; children: Michel (Dawn Marie) Roy, David (Dawn) Roy, and Tony (Kim) Gogan; grandchildren: Tyler (Jackie) Kambeitz, Danielle Roy, Dakota Kambeitz, Gillian Roy, Nicolle (Jaden) Friesen, Samantha Roy, Elizabeth Gogan, Thomas Gogan, and Abigail Gogan; great grandchildren: Brady, Brinley, Zakk, Auddie, Luca, Leia, and Theodore; siblings: Gisele, Gerard, Ghyslaine, and Gabrielle; god-children Bill Stein and Ashley MacDonald; special friends: Ken McDonald, Tony McDonald, Cec Stein, Bruce Legrow, Bud and Nancy Trainor; and a large circle of friends and golfing buddies.
He was predeceased by: his mother Therese Lanthier; father Edmund Roy; and brothers: George Roy and Gilles Roy.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held by the family at a later date.
Special thanks to Betty Kohout, Ken and Tony McDonald, Sandra Stein, and so many others who have helped the family during these difficult times. Your love and support will always be remembered and cherished.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Guy’s memory to the Southwest Coast SPCA or to the charity of your choice.
The family sends a very special thank you to Dr. Alan McComiskey and the caring staff of the medical ward at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.
