Our beloved Guy passed away after a full and active life. In the same fashion that he dealt with all experiences in life, Guy managed his illness with grace and dignity. In his final days, he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Guy was a gatherer of people. He was a gentlemen, a teacher, a mentor and a coach. He loved to motivate and guide people on the right path. He was compassionate, appreciative, polite and was known to be a great arbitrator. He was respectful and playful. He was a great provider to his family, a loving husband, father and grandfather. His hugs were powerful and meaningful and made us feel safe and loved.
The passions of this charismatic social animal included golf, skiing, swimming, boating and bridge. He loved to have fun and his hearty laugh filled a room with joy. When Guy arrived, the party started. He was a powerful sales person in the trucking industry and was respected by his peers. His last position prior to retiring was co-owner and vice-president of “Truck Equipment” which he managed with pride. Guy was always dressed to impress, he was truly a mover and a shaker.
A lover of music, he could belt out Ave Maria in his beautiful tenor voice that will resound with us forever. He loved to get into his car and roam. “Let’s go on a nowhere trip!” he would say which always brought excitement and adventure to our family vacations. It was never dull when Guy was around!
He loved Horses, spending winters as a snowbird in Fort Myers with his wife Jeannine, he worked hard and he played hard. He LIVED his life to the fullest.
Guy is survived by his daughters Christiane Dufour Laccitiello and Carole Dufour Milic, son-in-law Mario Laccitiello, grand-daughters Nadia and Lisa Laccitiello, grandson Hans Milic, sister-in-law’s Helene Bouchard and Suzette Desgagnes and good friend and life partner Estelle Fournier.
Guy was preceded in his passing by his loving wife Jeannine Fradette, daughter Cynthie Dufour, brother Jean-Pierre Dufour, son-in-law Heinz Peter Milic, brother and sister-in-law Josephte and Yvon Dufour and sister Rejeanne and brother-in-law Louis Roy.
We have lost a ray of sunshine, someone who made a difference, someone we will never forget. You will always be in our hearts.
