Obituary of Greg Loosley
It is with both sadness and love in their hearts that the family of Gregory R. Loosley, husband of Carol (D’Entremont) announces his reunion with Jesus, which occurred on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Shannex Embassy Hall, surrounded by the affection and prayers of his family. Greg was born on November 12, 1946, and was the son of the late, Ruben and Helen (Routledge) Loosley.
Greg, known to his beloved grandchildren as Bapa, will be remembered for being a larger than life, vivacious person. He would brighten any room his walked into and his spirit was like a beacon to those seeking faith and comfort. A man of great devotion, his girls were his absolute pride and joy, and by far his greatest accomplishment. He was their biggest cheerleader and encourager. Greg loved to preach the bible, he loved Jesus and his family deeply. He loved people and being social with them, he’d only have to meet you once, and would never forget your name. He loved to laugh and had a natural talent for bringing humour into his preaching, appealing to many people from all walks of life. He will be remembered as being a hockey fan. He loved the Red Wings, and took every opportunity to rub in the Maple Leaf’s loss to Rob Upshall. He most recently cheered on the Sea Dogs during the Memorial Cup alongside his family. His prayers very well could have assisted them in their big win. Greg was a caregiver at heart, he loved taking care of people, but the person he loved to care for the most was his cherished wife, Carol, who he took care of during her illness for many years. Carol and Greg were married for almost 55 years, and over those years created a beautiful legacy of family, faith and memories together. During his working life, he worked as a Pastor for Central Wickham Baptist Church and then at Faith Bible Baptist. He is going to be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing or praying with him. He never lost the wonder of it all, despite the many challenges he faced.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters: Shelley (Rodney) Alder; Kelly (Chris) McMillan; and Jerri-Lynn (Andrew Allen) Craft; brothers, Brad (Wendy); Stephen (Janice) and Jeff (Lisa) Loosley; grandchildren: Brooke Alder, Brett McMillan, Paige McMillan, Shane McMillan, Jake Craft and Lauren Craft; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, members of his faith family and friends. Greg was predeceased by his parents.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis, (849-2119); in keeping with the family’s wishes a celebration of Greg’s life will be held privately, a livestream of the service will be available to watch on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM, viewable by clicking the link on the lefthand side of Greg’s obituary on the funeral home website.
