Obituary of Grant Harvey Manning
After a heroic battle with cancer, on Monday, June 20th, 2022, Grant Harvey Manning of Ilderton in his 80th year. Dad battled cancer as he did life, with strength, endurance, and dignity.
Loving father of Duane (Diane Baxter) Manning of Komoka, Darlene (Rick) of London, and Kim of Indiana. Proud “Pops” of Sheena Shoaff (Tim) of Indiana, Jessica Kitchen (Jarrod) of Tennessee, Meghan Cannon (Kenny) of London, Leslie Petrie (Rob) of Komoka, Kyle Hetherington (Amber) of St. Thomas, Lucas Manning (Julie) of Komoka, as well as 10 and 1 on the way Great Grandchildren (Mia, Kai, Tyson, Elle, Nikolai, Edward, Lydia, Jude, Kennedy, Kane, and Bristol (due in Aug.). Dear brother Marsh Manning of Sarnia. Survived by his brother-in-law Dick McIntyre of Sioux Lookout and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Grant was born Aug. 6, 1942, in Toronto Ontario to Beatrice Kathleen Manning (Stokes) and Edward Manning (both predeceased).
Grant loved all things cars! An enthusiastic race fan he could be seen in his younger years driving car number 66 at Delaware and Nilestown Raceway. In later years he worked on the next two generations of Manning cars. He loved to rebuild old cars and join other old car enthusiasts at “Cruise events” and swap meets.
Family will receive friends at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, 22424 Adelaide Road, Mount Brydges on Tuesday, June 28th from 2-4 and 7-9pm where a private Celebration of Grant’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 29.
