Grant Joseph Menzies 2022

It’s with great sadness to announce that Grant Menzies passed away on Tuesday, April 12 at the age of 67. Grant has joined his mother Katrina father Eugene and brother Ross in heaven. Survived by his loving sibling, sister Sheila and her husband Patrick his younger brother Lyle and his sister-in-law Christine. Loving father to Yulunda her fiancé (Isaac), and Carson. Wonderful stepfather to Louis, Kyle and Brandon. Grandfather to Kyan, Jayden and Violette. He will be missed by former wives Carolyn and Christina. Uncle of Taylor, Perry and Kieran. Grant will be truly missed by family and friends.
Grant was known for his amazing love, passion and talent of music. True lover of academia, literature and a passion for astronomy.
“He fondly reflected upon the time in his life when he played in the drum core. As well as loved being a scout as a young boy. He often talked about road trips as a youngster with his parents and siblings.
Grant loved to cook and especially bbq’ing. He enjoyed dressing up and going out on the town.
Many memories made in Belle Ewart on the Menzies family property. Grant enjoyed the county life. He adored animals and the lake.
Grant spent countless hours writing, playing and listening to music. Music was his true passion. From his touring Canada with his band “Frontier”, to teaching and influencing his children’s love of music.
Grant was known as a “night owl” With that said made it perfect for him to enjoy his love of astronomy. Grant also travelled to Florida as a young man where he met his first wife. He had lots of great stories of his many trips to Florida. As well as the drives to Florida with his parents in their senior years. He truly loved to travel and experience new things. He was fearless.
He was a proud father and loved his children very much. Memories of him teaching us how to play checkers, to playing trivial pursuit. Memories of him helping me with homework at the kitchen table. He never missed a play or performance. Grants heart was so big as well his mind so sharp. One of Carson’s favourite memories of his father Grant. Is playing catch together in the yard. He and Dad loved the time shared while playing in the yard together. Yulunda and Carson both share the same memory of their father-when he used to read them bedtime stories and singing silky songs as little ones.
Fondly remember just watching and listening to him play the piano or keyboard always had me awe struck. So many fond and beautiful memories.
his children will truly miss his hugs and beautiful smile. Roundly remember him calling his kids “kiddo”.
So many beautiful memories of Christmas’s with the entire family, sitting around singing Christmas carols with his siblings and family was a found memory. May we all forever remember and cherish the memories we made with him.
May god keep you safe dear daddy. We will miss you always and forever”.
