Doiron, Gracia (née Mainville) 1930-2022
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 91 years. Daughter of the late Oscar and the late Rose Anna (née Bodson) Mainville. Predeceased by her husband Aldège Brunet and by her husband from her second marriage Léopold Doiron. Loving mother of Rachel MacGillivray (late Ron), Elise Denis (late Yvan and late Robert Ducharme), Ernest Brunet (Irène), Léo Brunet (Dianne) and Denise Doiron. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Brenda-Lee Therrien, Joanne Rousseau, Carole MacGillivray, Sylvie Brunet, Sophie Prisque, and Eric Brunet. Great-grandmother of Stéphanie, Riley, Christopher, Rachel, Xander, Sasha, Scott, Brison, Mathayus, Louis and Ezra. Great-great-great-grandmother of Scarlett and Henry. Predeceased by her siblings Aurore, Royal, Émile, Aurèle, Paul, Léo, Simone, Louis, Irène Nault and Georgette Richer. Survived by her sister Thérèse Carrière as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Gracia loved to cook and bake. Her specialty being her famous carrot cake and butter tarts. She was devoted to spending her time helping others and making sure everyone was alright. Gracia worked for many years at the Skyliner restaurant downtown and also at Gloria’s restaurant.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on July 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St-Dominique Church, 1241 Diane Street, following by a luncheon in the church hall.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. A special thank you to the staff at Pioneer Manor, York-Ramsey area for the excellent care and compassion. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
