Gordon Clifford John Goodridge 2022

With broken hearts, the family of Gordon Goodridge announces his passing. Gordon passed within the comfort of his home, on September 14, 2022, after a short battle with cancer, at 63 years old.
He is survived by his children Laila (Niall Condon), Sara, Scott, and Brent; his wife, Karen Bruce; his grandchildren Ezekiel, Astrid and Eoghan; his siblings Bryan, Keith, David and Linda (Rick Mikkelson); and his many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Alice Goodridge, and his wife, Janice Goodridge.
Gord was born in Edmonton, growing up in Opal, before settling in Fort McMurray with his family. After graduating from Peter Pond High, he began working at Syncrude, where he spent the next 42 years. This gave him a front seat to watch the incredible development within the oilsands, and he was exceptionally proud of his work to secure Canada’s energy future. Most of all, he was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and the family he created with Janice.
He lived a rich life with his family and friends. He enjoyed skiing, driving, a good meal, playing his guitar and a game of pool. He could also fix just about anything that needed fixing while explaining to you in great detail just how to fix it. He was a kind man with a big heart, and if you were ever lucky enough to meet him, he would happily spend an evening chatting about all matters, big and small, over a glass of wine.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Fort McMurray at the Blackhorse Pub, 700 Signal Road, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at 4 p.m.
