Gordon Ward
1947-2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Wilfred
Ward announce his sudden passing at his residence on Wednesday,
September 7, 2022. Born in Moncton on July 16th, 1947, Gordon was the
son of the late Mac Ward and Helen (Vickers)
Stephenson.
Gordon worked for many construction companies as a mechanic
& heavy equipment operator and had the ability to fix just
about anything; that was Gordon’s second greatest skill. His
first was his wonderful sense of humour. Whether on a good day or a
bad day, he could always make those around him laugh, even in his
recent sickness. Gordon had a saying for just about every situation
which was often timely and hilarious. He loved to spend time with his
Isabel, go hunting and fishing with his brother, tinker around in his
shed for hours and always had time for a good game of cards with
friends. Gordon’s quick wit was part of what endeared him to
everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon; his
daughter, Christa Ward-Gillis (Scott); his precious granddaughter,
Isabel; two brothers, Lorne Ward (Elaine) of Moncton, Darryl Ward
(Sheila) of Airdrie, Alberta; sisters-in-law, Claire Murphy (late
Raymond) of Rexton, Cathy Murphy (late Michael) of Hampton, NB and
many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mac and Helen, he was predeceased by his
step-father, William Stevenson.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
