cherished grandsons Marc and Luc Turcotte and Nygel and Jared Young; brother Ralph Young (Audrey)

After growing up in Upper Island Cove, Gordon moved to Burin at the age of 19 to continue his teaching
career. Not long after arriving, he met the love of his life – Alice Mayo, who he treasured and was still
stealing kisses from. Together they built a wonderful life, spoiling their kids and grandsons, traveling,
and enjoying their life together. He was first and foremost a family man who was focused everything on
his little family. As a teacher at Pearce for over 20 years, he took pride in his impact on so many young
people, and his community and church involvement.
The Young family will be accepting visitors on Sunday October 9th from 2-4pm, 7-9pm and Monday, October 10th
from 10am to noon at Peninsula Funeral Home in Creston South.
Funeral service will be held Monday, October 10th at 2pm at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Creston
South. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gordon’s memory, to St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Creston South, NL.
