CANTLAY, Gordon Kidd – 85 of Middleton passed away April 16, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Dartmouth on June 9, 1936, he was a son of Alexander and Christina (Slater) Cantlay. Gordon was employed with Nova Scotia Power for 35 years, beginning as a Linesman and retiring as a Line Inspector. Gordon was a former King Lion of the Kingston Lions Club. He was involved in various churches and served as a Deacon in the Middleton Baptist Church and Kempt Baptist Church. He was also a past member of First Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida, where he was also a member of their choir. Outside of these commitments, Gordon also enjoyed his home at Pretty Mary Lake and woodworking in his spare time. You could often find him helping others. He loved to tell stories of times past. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Barbara; daughters, Sharon (Angus) Cameron, Wilmot, and Patricia (Cliff) Guilbault, Lawrencetown; Grandchildren, Brett (Yuki), Kacie, Eric (Olivia) and Trent; Great Grandchildren, Yumi, Hiro and Mika. Besides his parents, Gordon is predeceased by his brother James. In keeping with Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton with Rev. Royce Getson officiating. By request, family flowers only.   1. Both Bill & I were so sorry to hear of Gords passing. We know that there is a special place in heaven for him & that he will be singing with the choir of angels. He was a good friend & he will be missed by his friends who loved him .
