On January 2, 2022 Gordon passed peacefully from this world, to meet his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Life was always an adventure for Gordon, starting with his birth. Born to Ernest and Amelia Klepatz in January of 1935 meant his mother getting to town by horse and sleigh, and then taking a train to Winnipeg for the delivery.
It was evident he had exceptional ability, as he was able to draw three dimensionally at an early age. Throughout his lifetime he used that ingenuity to dream of new ways to grow, build and improve things. Living on the farm he raised livestock, seed, grain, and loved any opportunity to spend time in the bush. He could dream and build anything. Some of his projects included a kitplane, his own bandsaw mill, and constructing multiple buildings.
Even though he lost his eyesight, any challenge still excited him until his last days here on earth. Gordon was always eager to learn and share his knowledge and faith, believing education is best gained through life’s new experiences.
The youngest and last surviving of his siblings Tillie, Alex, Mike, John, Walter, Hertha, and Albert, he grew up on the family farm near Whitemouth. The whole family had a musical ear and Gordon was most happy when he could sing or play some songs. Music was a big part of his life and gave him so much enjoyment. Annual hunting adventures with his brothers were always special to him. It was always exciting for Gordon and his brother John to take the plane out and go flying.
Gordon met his wife Joyce in Seven Sisters Falls. She has been by his side and his support for over 64 years. His memory will be cherished by Joyce and their children, daughter Valerie and Bryce, son Wayne and Sandra, extended family and friends.
Even though Gordon loved to travel and meet people he never really lived far from where he will be put to rest at the Oldenburg cemetery. He has requested a small private family service.
Gordon and his family extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Clovechok and the nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital for the wonderful care provided. We hope you enjoyed his early morning singing and it started your day on a cheery note. God bless you all.
