Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, Giggy, and friend, Gordon Charles Sawler, 65 of Elkford BC, (formally of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia). He joins his loving wife Kathleen Marie Sawler in Heaven, along with his mother Peggy and father Prescott Sawler.
Gord is survived by his 4 children; Laurie (Garrett), Rebecca, James (Laura) and Gordon (Samantha) and 3 (soon to be 4) grandchildren; Jordan, Hailey, and Anthony. Siblings: Jimmy (Linda), Doug, Carol Murray (Chip), Vicki Faloon (Garth), Michael, brother-in-law Kevin (Falle) and best friend/cousin Tony (Judy) Sawler, along with many nieces and nephews.
Gord spread joy to the world through his music and was always willing to sing a song or play you a tune on his guitar at the drop of a hat. Music ran through his blood; he played his guitar every day until the day he died. He loved an appreciative audience. Laughter filled the room when Gord was in it, and he loved to tell a simple joke. He made fast friends everywhere he went and was always the life of the party.
After his wife passed, he moved to Elkford to be near his grandchildren who he loved fiercely, to watch them grow. He was very affectionate and always let everyone know they were loved. He never let you leave without a hug or a kiss. Our world will not be the same without him in it.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Halifax. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Halifax, Nova Scotia. www.halifaxlutheranchurch.com
