It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Gordon Hodder of Creston announces his passing. Gordon passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, on Tuesday, August 02nd, 2022 at the age of 69. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife of 48 years, Joan, daughters Trudy Hodder (Gerarda), Marystown, and Amanda Hodder, Burin; grandsons Zachary and Joshua Hodder; brothers George Hodder, Hamilton, ON, Randall Hodder, Marystown, sisters Alma Papageorgiou (George), Florida, USA, Helen Mallay (John), Marystown, and Evelyn Walsh (Glenn), Marystown; brothers in law Paddy Companion (Irene), Toronto, ON, Ray Power, Marystown, Gerard Power, Toronto, ON, and John Power (Jane), Marystown, sisters in law Christina Greenough (Bryan), Halifax, NS, Jessie Brushett (Ray), Halifax, NS, Mary Power, Creston South, Bernadette Winsor (Daryl), Marystown and Nancy Power, Halifax, NS; plus nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Gordon is predeceased by his parents Stephen and Caroline Hodder, brothers Walter and Calvin, parents in law John and Lucy Power, brother in law and best friend Reuben Young and brother in law Cecil Power.
The Hodder Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm.
As per Gordon’s wishes cremation will take place.
A service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Monday, August 08, 2022 at 1:00 pm and inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown, .
In lieu of flowers, in Gordon’s memory donations may be made to the family or Transfer to payments@wisemansfh.ca , in person or by mail c/o Peninsula Funeral Home, P.O. Box 548 Marystown, NL, A0E 2M0.
