Obituary
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving and caring niece, Miriam George, sister, Mary Williams, great nieces, Tracey Reid and Crystal Bryant at the Glenbrooke Lodge, St . John’s on Monday, May 30, 2022, Gordon (Abe) Smith of Green’s Harbour, aged 83 years.
Predeceased by his beloved parents, John and Bertha Smith; sister, Emily Howell; 2 brothers, Raymond and Gerald Smith; brothers-in-law, Gordon Howell and Charles Williams.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his 2 brothers, Llewellyn (Patricia) and Clarence Smith; 2 sisters, Mary Williams and Melvina Smith; sister-in-law, Diane Smith; special niece and caregiver, Miriam George; as well as a large number of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 5 at 10:00am at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo with service to follow at 11:00am. Family and friends are welcome. As per Abe’s wishes, his ashes will be spread in Chance Cove at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Abe’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca/en) or the Alzheimer’s Society, NL (alzheimer.ca/nl/en/about-us/office).
