In loving memory of Isabel Glover, we are saddened to announce her passing on April 12, 2022, at age 76.
Isabel was born February 19, 1946, in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia and passed away peacefully in Kelowna, BC with her children, Morag and Margaret, son-in-law Terry, and grandson Jude, by her side.
In 1967, Isabel married Neville Glover in Great Britain, where they lived for seven years before moving back to Nova Scotia. Isabel began her career at Maritime Medical Care, where she progressed from the mailroom to the computer programming department, retiring after more than two decades with the company. Many of her closest friendships were made along the way.
Isabel moved to Kelowna in 2002 where she created a whole new beginning for herself and made a huge impact on the many friends she made. She spent countless hours volunteering for the South Okanagan Child ID Clinic and the Royal Canadian Legion, Kelowna branch. When she wasn’t travelling or volunteering, she could often be found on the golf course.
Isabel was a no-nonsense, fair but loving mother to her two daughters, although she rarely gave herself the credit she deserved for the mom that she was. She was a beloved Nannie to her grandson, Jude, sharing a special connection and many adventures together.
Isabel is survived by her daughters, Morag Glover and Margaret Glover-Campbell (Terry); grandson Jude; siblings Lyall Kaulbach (Shirley), Avis Fox (George), Margi Cameron, Lena Cameron (Ronnie), and Dawn Martell (Glen); stepdaughters Clare Hiltz and Michelle Cormack (Stewart); many step-grandkids, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and last but not least, her many friends.
The family would like to thank the BC Cancer Centre – Kelowna, Dr. D. Hoegler, Dr. B. Campling and Dr. Hurmat Ali for the tremendous care they provided; the palliative care team that supported her during her final months; and the entire team at Hospice House Kelowna who supported her through her final weeks.
In lieu of flowers or cards, donations can be made in Isabel’s honour to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, or Central Okanagan Hospice House through the KGH Foundation.
