Gloria passed away peacefully at Granite Ridge Care Community in Stittsville, ON in her 99th year. Gloria eloped and married her longtime love Alfred D. Du Vall in January 1946 who predeceaded her in death in 2007. Gloria graduated from Immaculata high school and began her career with Bell Telephone and NRC as a switchboard operator where she would lend a sympathetic ear to homesick soldiers serving overseas. For many years Gloria worked at Miracle Mart and “M” stores where she was a respected friend, mentor and mother figure. Gloria was predeceased by her first child, David (2020) and her four “angels” Roy (1948) Michael (1949) Jonathan (1957) and Agnes (1958). Gloria is survived by her children Joe, Mary Anne (Bill Moore), Elizabeth-Buffy, her beloved grandchildren Ava, Jillian, Rebecca, Brendan, Christina, Melanie, and Stefanie. Great-grandchildren Emma, Braden, Chloe, Maren, Lincoln, Brooklyn, and Mia. Gloria is the eldest of 11 children, she is survived by her brother Brian and sister Bonnie Lehmann. Predeceased by sisters Joan, Carol, Anne, Mary and brothers Phil, John, Leo and Gary. Family and Friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday Sept 21st from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean. Funeral Services will be held Thursday Sept. 22nd at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Parish, 1489 Shea Stittsville, ON. The Liturgy will be celebrated by Msgr. Joseph Muldoon. Interment following service at St. Malachy Church, 3889 Route 315 Mayo Quebec. Our Heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the love and special care shown to Gloria by the health care team of Lake House at Granite Ridge Care Community… “You are an exceptional group of people.” In lieu of flowers donations to your area food bank or Cornerstone Women’s Shelter (cornerstonewomen.ca) on Gloria’s behalf would be appreciated.
