Obituary of Glendon Blaine Sleep
Glendon Blaine Sleep, born in Saint John, July 17, 1946; passed away peacefully at his residence, Orchard View Special Care Home, Gagetown on Apr.11, 2022.
One of the last graduating class from Coles Island High School in 1967, Glen went on to work for G.E. Barbour’s in Saint John, and later for 25 years at Thorne’s Hardware in Saint John.
Glen was an avid bowler and for many years, enjoyed gardening and hunting. He was a lifelong Canadiens fan, and liked nothing better than a good cribbage game with his Aunt Kay (Catherine Sleep). The family Golden Retrievers were his constant companions.
He is survived by the light of his life, son Michael Sleep of Fredericton, his wife Betty Sleep of Coles Island, brother Eugene Sleep, Coles Island; treasured nieces Sherry Wood, Shelly Cameron and Stacey Sleep, and aunt Jennie Gallo (Ernie) of Hamilton, Ontario. Glen was pre-deceased by his parents, Herbert and Greta Sleep, and several aunts and uncles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr, Sus NB (506-433-1176), from where visitation will be held on Monday April 18th, 2022 from 6 to 8PM. A Celebration of Glen’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 2pm.
Donations can be made in memory of Glen, to Orchard View Special Care Home or to an animal charity of your choice. Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
