Obituary of Glenda Mae Hendsbee
Glenda (Glennie) Mae Hendsbee, age 75, Antigonish, formerly of Little Dover, Guysborough Co., NS passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Glennie was born December 17, 1947 in Half Island Cove, NS. She was the daughter of the late Laura and Arthur Hendsbee and stepdaughter of the late James (Jim) Horne.
Glennie enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, making quilt patches, spending time with children and was a lover of animals. You could always find her with a hot cup of tea and cookies. She spent most of her life in Little Dover where she resided with her mother, Laura, stepfather, James and nephew Wayne. She later moved to Antigonish with her stepfather James until he passed away in 2004. She then resided with her nephew Wayne Lawrence (Anne) for the rest of her years. Glennie was a kind soul who loved going for walks and visiting neighbours. She loved to joke and make people laugh.
Glennie is predeceased by her parents, Laura and Arthur Hendsbee; stepfather, James Horne; infant sisters Gladys and Darlene; sisters Lena, Muriel; great niece Ariana and nephew John Arthur.
Glennie is survived by brother Whylie (Gloria) Hendsbee, Country Harbour; sisters Amy Gosbee, New Glasgow; Genesta (West) Mosher, Fox Island; Jenny McPherson, Guysborough Intervale; Shirley (Ralph) Lawrence, Conne River, NL; a large number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Near and dear to her heart were great nieces Samarah and Dakota and great nephews Devon, Jaden and Dallas.
Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Glennie’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of Antigonish. www.MacIsaacs.ca
