It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Glen Wayne Watson, also known as Smiley, on July 17, 2022. Glen was born on June 25, 1959, in Trinidad and Tobago and immigrated to Canada on October 2, 1975.
Glen is pre-deceased by his grandparents, father William Mansley, brother Stevie, aunty Joan and grand-daughter Ayla. Left to celebrate his life are his mother Myrna, wife Ecko, children Natalie, Avion, Devin, Daeja, Demar, Grandchildren Amiyah, Mariah and Xaeviion. He is also survived by his siblings Trevor, Kenneth, Carol, Susan, Courtney, Doltan, Cindy, Kathy-Ann, Enid, as well as many family and friends.
Glen was a kind and caring man that loved spending time with those closest to him. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his mother, wife, children and grandchildren. He had a very close bond with his many siblings, nieces and nephews. It was not uncommon for all to seek his guidance and advice in times of need. Glen also took his job very seriously, rarely missing a day. He was not one to complain, but rather show us how strong he was, even in the toughest times. To his immediate family, Glen is and always will be, our Superhero.
The family would like to thank everyone for their expressions of condolence. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on July 30, 2022, at New Anointing Christian Fellowship located at 1425 Manitoba Avenue in Winnipeg. Family and friends are invited to attend.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand.
The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me, “Welcome Home.”
So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

I met Glen Watson back in 1975. Glen and I were co-workers at Indal Wall System for 10 years. Glen was a like a brother to me. If I step out of line Glen always had an advice to give me. I can say that Glen Watson was a true friend of mine for 46 years and I miss him dearly… Rest my in peace my brother…
Glen was such a good man and friend to me when I first came to Canada and he was my best man when I got married too. We went everywhere together and hung super tight. He was a very generous man with a big heart and was always there for me whenever I needed anything. We made so many great memories from my early migration, to socials, to family times at the lake to the many one-on-one private moments we shared our personal ups & downs in life. Words can’t express the sadness I feel, however I will forever remember the good time and joy we shared.
My deepest condolences to the family and his loved ones 💜 #SmileyForever 🙏🏿🌟🙏🏿
