Gladys’ Obituary
Garron, Gladys Marie– 78, of Shag Harbour, passed away peacefully in Roseway Manor, Shelburne on April 23, 2022. Born on March 3, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Sheldon and Ruth (Quinlan) Ross, Stoney Island. Over the years Gladys worked at Jack Sterns Clothing, Dixie Lee and in the family business on salt fish. She also sold Avon. Gladys enjoyed going to church and playing bingo and loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (David) Atkinson, Stoney Island; grandsons, Chris (Jennifer), Calgary and Devon (Kayla) Shag Harbour; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Carter, Averie, Quinn and Elijah; brother, Ira; sisters, Deborah and Esther; half-brothers, Sheldon, Gary and Paul; step-sisters, Shirley and Cindy; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; son, Bernard; brother, Lewis; sisters, Marion and Clissie. The family would like to thank the staff at Roseway Manor for all the wonderful care that was given to Gladys for the past three years. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at 2:00 pm from the H.M. Huskilsons Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Phil Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or any charity of choice.
