Girard Vincent Joseph, Moreau 1931-2022 (aka Gerry Moreau, Gerrard Moreau, G.V. Moreau) of Rutherglen Ontario, born in North Bay & raised in Kirkland Lake Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 18th at the Mattawa hospital after a prolonged battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Annette (nee Chartrand), children Denise Publicover, Claude Moreau, Lilliane Oorschot, Gilles Moreau and Nina Moreau, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerry was a 54 year resident of Rutherglen, wasan avid Quarter horse enthusiast, deer hunter, gardener and nature lover. During his 40+ year working career he held a variety of positions in mining as well as sales. The majority of his work career was at the North Bay Post office where he was a postal clerk, retiring after 25 years of continuous service. Gerrywas also an active member of the Bonfield and Mattawa Catholic churches, as well as a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. A celebration of life will be held at the Martyn Funeral home 464 Wyld St. North Bay on October 27th from 12 noon to 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.
