Obituary of Gilberte Breton
Peacefully on February 4th, 2022 at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home in her 96th year.
Predeceased by her husbands Gerald (1960) and Gilbert (1972), her parents Marie (Boulet) and Joseph Beaule, siblings Leonard, Marie-Jeanne Turmel, Lucien, Fernand, Jean-Paul, Marthe, Antoinette Dion, Theodore, Julien and Louise Couture. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Therese Beaule, daughters Francine Cole (Rick), Diane Armstrong (Steve), Gisele Currah and sons Andre Breton and Bernard Breton (Ruth). She was loved immensely by her grandchildren Amy Cole (Craig Brown) Andy Cole, Jessica Armstrong, Meghan Sutherland (Matt), Martin Breton (Beata), Danielle Bethel (Wade) Corey Breton (Anna) Maurisa Zebadiah, Mishline Hopkins (Tim) and Kelly Tardif. Gilberte also has 9 great grandchildren who will miss her deeply. She was born in Marbleton in the Eastern Townships of Quebec and moved to Port Colborne in the 1950s where she remained for the rest of her life. Gilberte worked many years at the Port Colborne Hospital. She was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a game of her beloved Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays.
We would like to thank the staff at Lookout Ridge and Dr Jason King for the excellent care she was given during her time there, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
A special thank you to her wonderful neighbours Rick and Lynn Marshall who were always there when she needed a hand and kept a watchful eye over her. Thank you to her close friend Sylvia Smith who was so caring and thoughtful and to Jeff Armstrong for all your years of service and being so generous with your time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her long and happy life will be held in the spring.
If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the CNIB or charity of one’s choice.
