La famille a le regret de vous annoncer son décès survenu à Sudbury, le mardi 25 janvier 2022, à l’âge de 88 ans. Fille de feu Pierre et de feue Blanche (née Brunet) Giroux. Chère épouse de feu Fernand. Mère bien-aimée de Marc de Warren, Monique Racette (Léo) de Garson, Charles (Catherine) et Serge, tous deux de Sudbury. Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses petits-enfants, Chantal, Lynne, Liane, Sarah, Matthieu, Patrick, Joseph et Julie, ainsi que de son arrière-petit-fils Félix. Prédécédée par ses frères et soeurs, Léonard, Laurent, Paul, Alma Beauvais, Alice Villeseche, Cécile Campbell, Rita Gendron, Laurette Jeanveau, Lucienne Giroux et Maria Bessette. Gilberte grandit et fréquenta l’école à Warren puis poursuivit ses études postsecondaires à l’École Normale d’Ottawa (Université d’Ottawa) (1948-1951). À son retour dans le nord, elle rencontra Fernand, qu’elle épousa le 29 août, 1953. Durant leur 60 ans de mariage, ils fondèrent et opérèrent Pine Poultry Farm pour plus de 50 ans. Gilberte était aussi pleinement dévouée à sa carrière comme enseignante à l’École Saint-Thomas à Warren pendant plus de 25 ans. En plus, elle était une femme de foi et elle a servi ardemment et elle a donné beaucoup de son temps à la paroisse Saint-Thomas-Apôtre. La messe funéraire sera célébrée à l’église Saint-Thomas-Apôtre à Warren, le samedi 29 janvier, 2022 à 10h30. Les arrangements funéraires sont confiés au salon funéraire Théoret-Bourgeois à Sturgeon Falls.
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury on Tuesday January 25, 2022 at the age of 88 years old. Daughter of the late Pierre and of the late Blanche (née Brunet) Giroux.
Beloved wife of the late Fernand. Dear mother of Marc of Warren, Monique Racette (Léo) of Garson, Charles (Catherine), and Serge, both of Sudbury. Sadly missed and lovingly
remembered by her grandchildren Chantal, Lynne, Liane, Sarah, Matthieu, Patrick, Joseph, Julie and her great-grandchild Félix. Predeceased by all her siblings Léonard, Laurent, Paul, Alma Beauvais, Alice Villeseche, Cécile Campbell, Rita Gendron, Laurette Jeanveau, Lucienne Giroux and Maria Bessette. Gilberte grew up in Warren where she attended school followed by her post-secondary education at Ottawa Normal School (University of Ottawa)(1948-1951). Upon her return to the North, she met and later married Fernand on August 29th, 1953. During their 60 years of marriage, they established and operated Pine Poultry Farm for more than 50 years. Gilberte also pursued her career as a dedicated school teacher at École St-Thomas in Warren for more than 25 years. She was also a very devoted catholic who was always actively involved and served in many capacities at St-Thomas-Apôtre parish. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St-Thomas-Apôtre church in Warren on Saturday January 29, 2022 at 10:30 am. Funeral arrangements in care of the Théoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls.
