Gilbert “GB” L. Verret, 90, of Moncton, passed away
peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, November 28, 2022. Born
in Edmundston, NB, he was the son of the late Laurier and
Adèle (Therrien) Verret.
Gilbert retired from CNR as Regional Supervisor of Car
Management with 40 years’ service. He attended
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church and was a member
of the Notre-Dame-de- Grâce Club d’Age
d’Or. He was a former member of the Beausejour Curling Club
Seniors Group, Member of the CN Pensioners’ Association,
Member of CN Supervisors’ Association and Member of the
Greater Moncton Fiddlers Association.
Gil was an avid lover of music, especially playing the fiddle
at different events.
He enjoyed walking, gardening, bowling, playing pool,
curling, and canning fruits and vegetables with his wife Armande. But
first and foremost were gatherings with his family, especially his
grandchildren, at the summer cottage and the family music
sessions.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Armande
Ringuette-Verret; sons, Gary (Rachel) and Gilles; grandchildren,
Daniel (Isabelle), Chantal D’Souza (Brandon), Nigel and
William; great grandchildren, Oliver and Cédric; brothers,
Gerry (Adeline), Bill (Nancy) and Bob; as well as several nieces,
nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his
brother, Adrien.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on
Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the
Funeral Home Reception Centre. Masks are encouraged. Interment will be
held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Peter McKee
Community Food Bank would be appreciated. Online condolences for the
