Obituary of Gib Crain
Crain, Gilbert
Gilbert (“Gib”) Leslie Crain of Mallorytown, Ontario. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Gilbert on December 17, 2022, in his 75th year. He leaves behind, his wife Catherine (Frizell), the love of his life, of over 50 years. He will be sadly missed by his children Alison and Tim (Stephanie), his grandchildren, Hannah and Hudson, who thought the world of their Papa and dear friend Laura Cassidy.
Gilbert had a large extended family, brothers, Norman (Sylvia), Wilburt (Barbara), Tom (Tammy), sisters, Valerie (late George Laight), Donna (Keith Brydges), Rosanne (Fraser) Rogers and sister-in-law Diane Welsh. Mother-in-law Dorothy Frizell, brother-in-law John (Terry) Frizell and sister-in-law Mary (Duff) Horne. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Georgina, brothers Archie (Linda), Guy Welsh and father-in-law Frank Frizell. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends. Gilbert was proud of his family, was always willing to help others, cherished time spent with his family and friends, life on the St. Lawrence River for 38 years and time “North of 7”.
In keeping with Gilbert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
