Obituary of Gerry Noordhoek
Gerrardus (Gerry) Cornelius Noordhoek
Feb 2, 1946 – Oct 7, 2022
On October 7, 2022, Gerry Noordhoek passed away at the age of 76. We say goodbye to Gerry with heavy hearts, but know that he is at peace.
Loving husband to Irene (Cloutier) Noordhoek, and caring father to Jamie (spouse Claudia), Jason (spouse Jennifer) and Julie Noordhoek.
Grandfather to Devon Noordhoek; Ethan, Abby, Aidan & Cohen Noordhoek.
Born in Bleiswijck, The Netherlands, Gerry came to Canada in 1964 and first worked on a farm in Stevensville, ON with his eldest brother Arie (spouse Joanne) and over the years became good friends with his nephew Neil (spouse Jennifer) Noordhoek. Gerry met his wife Irene in Windsor, ON. They were happily married for 53 years.
He worked in the construction industry, including being a member of the Carpenters’ Union for over 50 years; retiring in 2008. Gerry was a foreman and well respected throughout his career. We will miss his witty sense of humour and big, loving heart. He often went above and beyond to help those in need.
At this time funeral arrangements are still to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in memory of Gerry to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to a Mass for St.Michael’s Church in Ridgetown.
