Obituary of Gerald Schnare
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Gerald at the QEII – Halifax Infirmary, on November 10, 2022, with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Shirley (Parsons) Schnare and the late Douglas Schnare.
Gerald loved hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time enjoying a beer by the fire in the back yard with his family and friends. He also loved doing puzzles with his brother Stephen and spending time with his beloved cat, Winston. He worked at Sears for many years and also at SLH.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Wendy (Snow) Schnare; daughters, Heather (Shane), and Tina; grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Hailey, Isaac and Damian; his mother, Shirley; sister, Brenda (Brian); brother, Stephen (Hilda); nephew, Brian; nieces, Jennifer and Ashley.
He was predeceased by his father, Douglas, and brother, Brian.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, B3P 1K6. It is asked that masks be worn in the chapel for the duration of the service out of respect for those who are compromised. A reception will take place at the funeral home following the service.
