Obituary of Geraldine Mary Agnes Dunnigan
DUNNIGAN, Geraldine (81) Halifax, NS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Dunnigan at White Hills Long Term Care Centre on May 2, 2022. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, she was the daughter of Edward and Freida (Dupuis) Dunnigan.
While supporting a young family working as a secretary, Geraldine went back to school as an adult to complete a certificate from Mount Saint Vincent University as well as a degree from Saint Mary’s University. Geraldine later found a passion for fund development and advancement working for Saint Mary’s University, University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology and finally ending her career as Director of Advancement for Mount Saint Vincent University.
Survived by her children: Lisa Hueston of St. Catherine’s, ON; Adam (Christal) Hueston of Powell River, BC, and D’Arcy (Dena) Hueston of Halifax, NS, as well as her five grandchildren: Elijah, Piper-Dove, Hazel-Mae, Kael and Graham. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, and sister Patricia Dunnigan; ex-husband Terry Hueston, and their daughter Heather.
The family would like to thank the entire team at White Hills LTC for the wonderful care they provided to Geraldine as she journeyed through her Alzheimer’s disease. There will be a family graveside service in Ottawa at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.
