Geraldine Brake (nee Dennis)
June 27, 1938 – November 3, 2021
It is with broken hearts we announce our beloved Mother has passed peacefully away at the age of 83 years in the presence of her loving family.
Mom will be forever loved and missed by her daughters Linda (Johnny), Fort Nelson, BC, Nancy (Peter), Mount Pearl, NL, Debbie (George), Benoits Cove, NL; her dearly loved grandchildren, Joshua (Vicki), Scott, Jeremy (Natasha), Brittany (Ryan), Jared, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Brayden, and Courtney; her great grandchildren Katie, Hollie, Henry, Mason, and Morgan; her sister Maisie Tarbett and brothers Merle Oldford and Bernard Dennis (Vera); her sisters-in-law Annie, Nancy, Vonnie, Laurie and brother-in-law Gerald Janes, as well a large number of family and friends.
Geraldine is predeceased by her parents George and Martha Dennis, her son Robert, her husband William Brake and her partner Reginald Belbin, as well as her brothers; George (Marjorie), Francis, Roy, David, Derek, Bruce, and her sisters Betty (Witfield), Patricia, Ada, as well as her brother-in-law Harry Tarbett and sister-in-law Madge Oldford.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasantview Towers for their care during her illness. Following Geraldine’s request, cremation has taken place.
Family and friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, July 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; from where the Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 15th at 11 AM with Reverend Tanya White officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland.
