Obituary
It is with great sadness that family and friends of Dr. Gerald (Gerry) White Jr., announce his passing on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, Gerald Sr. & Theresa (Furlong) White.
Left with fond and loving memories, brother, Paul White (Barb) and sister, Mary Ann McConaghy (Scott). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews Marleigh (Brent), Carson, Connor, Brennan (Isabelle), Annika and Brianna, along with great nephew and niece Oliver and Ava. Gerry will be especially missed by his sweet canine, Sophie.
He is survived by his uncle, Tom Furlong.
Gerry will be forever loved and remembered by his close friends & second family, Michael English, Kevin & Jayla English, along with their children Grayson & Aviana, who loved their uncle Gerry. As well as special friends, Kelly Finlay, Perry & Marie Bowering, Ernie & Carol Reckling and Neville & Dorothy Burridge, along with many more.
Gerry made many friends through his careers as a teacher/professor, with the RCMP and as a paramedic. His love of travel took him to many places around the world and nothing made him happier than travelling with friends and making new ones along the way.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s from 2 pm to 4 pm, and from 6 pm to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 9:30 am at St. Pius X Parish, Smithville Crescent, St. John’s with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cementry, Topsail Road. In his memory, we ask for random acts of kindness be made, as Gerry did each day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the SPCA or your local animal shelter.
