Gerald Johnson
1934-2022
RICHIBUCTO, NB – Gerald Johnson, 88, of Richibucto
passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent hospital,
Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, on Thursday, August 25th,
2022. Born in Kouchibouguac, he was the son of the late Edmond and
Exilda (Daigle) Johnson.
Gerald worked for the Department of Transportation for many
years. After his retirement, he ventured into small engine repair;
tinkering in his garage was something he loved doing.
Gerald leaves to mourn his three sisters, Irene (Bill), Linda
(Levis) and Norma (Daniel), all of Richibucto; three brothers, Roger
(Yvonne), Wesley (Lauretta) both of Saint-Charles and Edgar (Nancy) of
Richibucto; a special nephew, chosen by heart, Michael of Richibucto,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gerald also has a special place in his heart for Danny and
Kevin Arseneault and also his chosen brother, Charles
“Charlie” Kelly of Saint-Ignace.
Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his two
sisters, Ida and Doris; his brother, Roy; and his sister-in-law,
Eva.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 from
7-9 pm and Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 from
11:00 am until departure for the funeral. The funeral mass will be
celebrated on Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 at
1:00 pm, Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic Church,
Richibucto.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Troy
Sitland and all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the
Stella-Maris-de-Kent hospital. The family is also very grateful for
the wonderful care Gerald received in the palliative care unit, which
went above and beyond for his comfort. The family would also like to
thank Thompson’s Funeral Home in this time of sorrow. The
Johnson family want to express our gratefulness for all the kind words
everyone has shown.

made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
