Obituary
On March 7, 2022 Gerald John Zaharia (Jerry) of Cold Lake, Alberta passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a short, battle with cancer.
Jerry was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. He spent many years in Saskatchewan, later earning his journeyman’s welding ticket there. He met his wife Jenny in 1979 and they moved to Hinton, married and had three beautiful children. Jerry owned a welding company for several years and built great friendships living there. Years later he was finally able to achieve his dream of having an acreage of his own in Cold Lake, Alberta. He was proud of his land and it showed. He will be remembered for his strength, talent, and kind loving heart. His grandchildren were so very special to him, and he was such a proud Papa. Life will not be the same without him but he will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
Jerry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife of forty one years: Janet Zaharia; son: Jerald Zaharia; daughters: Jayne (Travis) Hutchison, Joslyn (Aaron) Rusk; grandchildren: MacKenna Wiltermuth, Kaden Hutchison, Kyler Hutchison, Konnor Hutchison, Sydney Rusk, Rowyn Rusk, Peyton Rusk; brother: Orest Zaharia; sisters: Iris Bogucky, Gloria Durette; family friend: Jane Lee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents: Metro & Mary Zaharia; son: Todd Wiltermuth; sister in-law: Carole Zaharia; brothers-in-law: Ernie Bogucky, Arnold Alksne; niece: Cindy Zaharia.
Celebration of Life, Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Hinton Community Centre, Hinton, Alberta.
