Gerald (Jerry) Avery Covey
1928-2022
A funeral service for the late Jerry A. Covey (1928-2022) of
Fredericton and formerly of Dumfries, NB was held at Brunswick Street
Baptist Church, Fredericton, NB on Monday, May 2, 2022 with Rev. Greg
Geldart officiating. Words of Love from the family were read by Rev.
Geldart. Music was provided by soloist David Steeves and Pianist Leah
Steeves. Members of the RCMP Veterans Association attended and formed
a Guard of Honor at the church. A reception followed at the church
with interment at Barony Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nicholas
O’Donnell, Peter Hicks and Jerry’s sons, Greg and Stephen. Online

Jerry is survived by his children, Heather, Saint John, NB, Stephen
(Pascale), Montreal, QC and Gregory, Harvey Station, NB; three
grandsons Michael O’Donnell, Nicholas O’Donnell and Kieran
Hamilton; five granddaughters, Alexandra Covey, Justine Covey, Rene
Covey, Elyssa Covey and Fiona Hamilton; two sisters-in-law Carolyn
Rowe (Ronald) and Marilyn Hicks (William); several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clarence and Emma (Defreytas) Covey, he
was predeceased by his wife June; a grandson Eric Covey; two sisters,
Viola Naugle and Audrey Coles; two brothers Wilfrid Covey and Clarence
Covey Jr.; two sisters-in-law Kathleen Wade and Jean Flemming.
