It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on June 30, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marie-Ange (née Dupuis). Son of the late William and late Loretta (née Gauthier) Forest. Devoted father to Monique (Grant), Colette (Ivan) and Claude (Sheila). Predeceased by his son Mark (late Bev and friend Helen). Dear brother and brother-in-law to many who will remember him fondly. Cherished grandfather of Robin (Sarah), Alex (Rachael), Ben (Kariane), Lauren (Norm), Tiffani (Andrew), Grant (Jana), Chris (Melissa), Michael, Julie (Jamey), Stéphane, Eric (Maija) and Megan (Zach). Great-grandpa/Pépère adored by Calleigh, Scarlett, Grant Jay, Gavin, Morgan, Desmond, Quinn, Olivier, Zoe, and Colton. Equally missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Gerry enjoyed his summers at camp on Frenchman Lake hosting family picnics and get-togethers. He was a mechanic by trade at INCO and retired after 30 years. He loved to sing and play guitar, singing in many choirs throughout the years. He was an accomplished artist who loved to paint outdoor scenes on canvas and rocks. He played junior hockey, coached for playground leagues and continued playing until his early 80’s. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare Falconbridge for their compassion and support. Visitation will take place at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 lasalle blvd, Sudbury, Saturday July 23, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A service in the chapel will follow at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations by cheque or online to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
