CRAGG, Gerald
Peacefully passed away at Juravinski Hospital on January 17, 2022 at the age of 77. Born in Calgary on January 3, 1945. Survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Colleen. Lovingly remembered by his children Cristy and husband Jason, Sara and husband Darryl and grandchildren, Adam, Cole, Haley, and Maddie. And his beloved critters, Oscar the cat and Cosmo the dog.
“My sweet Gerry has passed from this world to the next. A world of flowers and light and laughing grandchildren. People say he was a true gentleman. He was so empathetic and his work life with the YMCA allowed him to help those who needed him the most. How do you explain a life in a few words? He was gentle…so gentle. And fun and witty and kind. And he will be so desperately missed. But it is not about us left behind; it is about a celebration of a good, kind, decent man. Rest In Peace Gerry. I love you.”
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King St. E (between Cochrane and Rosedale), on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 12-1 p.m. with a Chapel Service following at 1 p.m. Due to Covid-19, RSVP in advance is required for both the visitation and service separately at www.dermodys.com or by calling 905-388-4141. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
