Obituary of George Maurice Charlebois
We regret to announce the passing of George Maurice Charlebois, who passed away on January 7, 2022, due to heart failure.
George was a fixture in Brockville for decades. His warmth and enthusiasm touched many, and he was deeply involved in his community.
Born in Ottawa, George went to school in Smiths Falls and then settled in Brockville, where he worked most of his career at the St. Vincent Du Paul Hospital. He loved socializing with old friends and new faces downtown, and spending time by the water, where he seemed to be at peace. He loved to reminisce about his times swimming in the St. Lawrence River, going out for dinner and dancing, going to work, and spending time and holidays with his family.
George was a private man who shared his life memories with few, but once you were in his circle you were in for life. George connected with people on a deeper level than most, and dedicated his life to making others smile.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Doris Cooke.
A Graveside Service will take place on Friday February 11th, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Oakland Cemetery. In memory of George, donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated by his family. Arrangements entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East Brockville. Messages of condolences may be made online at www.barclayfuneralhome.com.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of George
