1933-2022
George Edward Ward of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at the
Edmundston Regional Hospital on January 4, 2022.
George was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on April 13, 1933. He was the son
of the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Ward. George leaves
behind his loving wife, Jeanette Ward (Morrison); his daughter, Ruth
Porter of Saint John, NB; his sons, Randy Ward of Moncton, NB, and
John Edward Ward (Deanna) of Calgary, AB; five grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth Fulton of Plaster Rock, NB,
Doreen Knowles of Aroostook, NB, Linda Briggs (Alex) of North View,
NB; along with many nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Marilyn Ward;
his infant son, Donald George Ward; his sisters, Jean McElroy, Dolly
Milton, and Grace Coughlan; his brothers, Alexander, Douglas, and
Lawrence Ward.
George served as a paratrooper with the Canadian Military during the
Korean War. He worked as a scaller at Fraser’s mill for over 40 years.
He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 29.
Respecting George’s wishes, there will be no visitation of funeral
held.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch # 29 or the Victoria County SPCA would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
