George Spare
1943-2022
George Spare, of Riverview, passed away at the Albert House
Hospice SENB on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Born in Westmount,
Quebec, he was he son of the late Frederick and Pauline (Bernier)
Spare.
George had a great love of golf and was a distinguished 25
year member of PGA of Canada Rules Official. He taught the
rules of golf to aspiring Canadian PGA tour potential golf
professionals.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 54 years,
Karen (Crawford), sons: Paul (Stacey) Spare of Ottawa, ON, David Spare
of Halifax, NS, sisters: Virginia (Jim) Bell of Martins River, NS,
Suzanne Spare of Lunenburg, NS and Nancy (Bradley) Unsworth of
Amsterdam, Netherlands.
He will also be missed and remembered by his grandchildren
Ceilidh and Lukas and his several nieces and nephew.
In honouring George’s wishes, cremation has taken
place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007). His family will be holding a
celebration of his life at the Moncton Golf and Country Club 212
Coverdale Rd, Riverview on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 2
– 4 pm. Donations made to the Albert House Hospice

I was shocked to see George’s Obituary in the Halifax Herald yesterday.
I knew he was having health issues but didn’t realize they were that severe.
I have manny fond memories of our times travelling together to places like NFLD, etc.
Please accept my condolences.
He will be missed.
