George H. Wheatley
March 6, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David William Wheatley age 69 on
March 6, 2022, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. David was predeceased by
his parents, George H. Wheatley and Ethel M. Brown. He is survived by his siblings, BettyLou Giles (Ron Giles),
George Wheatley (Ruth Wheatley), Linda Smith (Ralph Smith), Dawn
Coffin (Fred Coffin) and Barry Wheatley (Carole Wheatley), and predeceased by his brother,
Jamey Wheatley. David was raised in French Village and moved to Queensland later in life,
graduating from Sir John A. Macdonald High School in 1970. David is survived by his
children, Stephanie Wheatley, Leeanne Wheatley (Dennis Findley), Keirsten Wheatley (Levi
Laurie) and David Wheatley Jr. and his grandsons, Evan Benvie and Garidan Porter, and his
granddaughter, Mickayla Wheatley. David was a great father and spent his later years
raising his two youngest children, Keirsten and David Jr . He liked to collect ceramic horses,
read Louis L’amour books but his favourite things in life were hunting, fishing and watching
old western movies. David passed away in his sleep four days before his 70th birthday. He
will always be remembered for his incredible strength and courage and will always have a
place in our hearts. He was a great man, a loving father, brother and friend. His last wishes
were for his friends and family to have a Celebration of Life in his honour. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The Celebration of life will be
announced at a later date. Good night, God Bless, we are proud of you, love you and miss
you Dad
