Obituary
It’s with great sorrow that we announce that Gejza Savrnoch passed on August 18, 2022. Gejza was born in Lucky, Czechoslovakia on May 29, 1937.
Gejza is survived by his three children: Alexander Savrnoch, Patrick Savrnoch, and Luba Savrnoch, and grandchildren Thomas Savrnoch, Sasha Savrnoch, and Kinsley Pollard.
Gejza moved from Czechoslovakia in 1970 to Canada, settling in the Elk Valley where he worked as a mechanic in the coal mines. He spent his early days traveling and skiing, his greatest passion. He also loved fishing the rivers in the Kootenays and rafting with his kids. Gejza found great joy spending time on his property in Creston, BC where he loved gardening and tinkering around on various projects in his shop.
Anyone who knew Gejza, knew he was quite the character with a very outspoken personality and could always make people around him laugh.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Village for such great care for the past four years.
