Gary Wayne Hake
– age 75, of Kentville, passed away on Friday, January 28,
2022, at home.
Born in Berwick, he
was a son of the late William and Florence (O’Brien)
Hake.
Gary was a house
painter and a member of the Meadowview Community Centre. He enjoyed
volunteering for the community and loved hockey. He was a die-hard
Toronto Maple Leaf fan!
He is survived by
siblings, Arnold, Dorine Grey, Donna (Robert) Whitman, Linda
(Clifford) Bowen, Virginia (Willie) Weatherbee, Carl (Karen) and
Darrell (Donna); sisters-in-law, Maria Hake, Tammy Veinott and
Margaret Sherman; brother-in-law, Sandy Veinott; nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends.
Besides his parents,
he was predeceased by his wife, Valerie (Veinott); siblings, Charles,
Sharon Hake, Marilyn Davidson, David, Larry; brothers-in-law, Ralph
Davidson, Douglas Grey and Everett Oickle.
Cremation has taken
place and a private graveside service will be held in the Elm Grove
Cemetery, Steam Mill.
Donations in memory
may be made to the Meadowview Community Centre. The family wishes to
express their gratitude to Gary’s close friends Joe Benjamin
and Sandra Benjamin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. In
accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof of Full Vaccination Policy,
proof of full vaccination will be required to attend visitations,
services and receptions held in or by the White Family Funeral
Home.
