Gary Thomas Woolsey
1944 – 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary surrounded by his loving family, on January 6th, 2022, at the age of 77. Gary showed immense courage in facing life challenges in the last 5 years with Lung and Heart disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Catherine Clarke. Proud father to daughters Deborah and Donna (Trevor Armstrong), cherished Poppa to grandchildren Victoria and Kyle Woolsey, Nicholas, Hannah, and Chloe Armstrong, Great Grand Poppa to Xavier Woolsey. Dear brother of the late Keith (late Phyllis), the late Cleo (Melba), the late Winston (Yvette), Elwin (Karen), Aileen (Henry Clarke) and Terry (Inez) also survived by brothers-in-law Austin Clarke (Irene) and Jack Clarke (late Anne). Gary will be fondly remembered by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gary worked for 34 years as an Owner/Operator in the Trucking Industry throughout the Ottawa Valley. He worked many long and hard hours, showing great pride in his trucks, while providing for his family. In his down time Gary enjoyed having many laughs and socializing while camping, attending Jamborees and doing other family activities. Gary will be remembered for always being ready to pitch in and help no matter what. A celebration of Gary’s life will be planned in the spring on a date to be announced later. Donations may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Heart Institute or Kemptville District Hospital. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Doctors at Rideau Crossing Family Health Centre, Equinelle Pharmasave and to the Paramedics who provided exceptional care and compassion to Gary from the Leeds Grenville Community Paramedic Outreach Program.
