It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Gary Scott Lewis at the age of 76. Born in Yarmouth Hospital on March 17, 1945, he lived in Port Maitland and died at the Yarmouth Hospital on December 7, 2021. He was the son of the late Waldo and Goldie Lewis. Gary was a loving father and hard worker, he worked on plumbing, electrical and furnance installation. Then he started lobster fishing and became a captain of his own boat. Gary had interests in: hunting, camping, four-wheeling, travelling, living wharves and telling many stories. He’s survived by his wife Rrene Lewis; sister Faye (Bruce) Raynard, stepson Kevin (Cara) Tufts, SK; stepson Trevor (Stefanie Arsenault) Tufts, SK; son Ted (Stefanie Wendt) Tufts, AB; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Gary was predeceased by his mother, Goldie Lewis; father, Waldo Lewis; son, Robert Scott Lewis; daughter, Lisa Anne Lewis; and son, Curtis Thomas Lewis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Celebration of life will take place August 14, 2022 at 11:30 am in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. A reception will follow in Jacob’s Loft Event Center above Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Donations in memory may be made to Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
