Obituary
Jodouin, Gary Michael (May 4, 1949-June 5, 2022)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on June 5th, 2022, at the age of 73 with his loving family by his side. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol (nee Blasky) of 48 years. He was a loving father to dear son Derek (Kathleen) and dear daughter Melanie. He was a proud Nono to his grandson Seth. He is survived by his sisters Carol-Ann (Anthony), Lise-Anne (Micheal, predeceased) and brother Christopher. He will be very missed by nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Mary Jodouin. He enjoyed and had compassion for all the special pets in his life and could always be counted on for treats in his pockets.
Born in Sudbury and raised in North Bay, since his early years Gary was involved and committed to his community in countless ways. He spent his entire professional career as a chartered accountant and was proud to receive the designation of FCA-Fellow Chartered Accountant while a partner at KPMG, North Bay.
Even in his early career and throughout the ensuing years, he demonstrated how important it was for him to give back to his community as seen by his involvement in the North Bay Canoe Club, Big Sisters, Rotary Club of North Bay-Nipissing, Kiwanis Triathlon, Mackay Homes-Board of Directors, North Bay Nordic Ski Club, Run/Walk 4 Patrick, North Bay and District Humane Society, Near North District School Board and Nipissing University. He loved bringing joy to children as seen in his organizing of the Santa Express Train for over 25 years.
He believed strongly in the importance of supporting essential health care in the area as demonstrated by his involvement with the Board of Directors of the Civic and North Bay General Hospitals, as well as the current North Bay Regional Health Centre Board since 2011.
He deeply valued family and friends, celebrated, and enjoyed all get-togethers whether at birthdays, holidays, Portage Friday nights, Trout Lake boat rides, or all the small, quiet times in between. His presence will be sadly missed.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
