October was Gary’s most loved month. Halloween was his very favourite holiday as well as Oktoberfest. He was born on October 19, 1948 and passed away on October 3, 2022. Gary is survived by his loving wife Lisa, son Jason (Vanessa), daughter Alison (Paul), granddaughters Lily and Gigi, brother-in-law David and family, sister-in-law Yvonne, nephew Graham and family.
Gary was a proud veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces having served four tours of duty overseas. He was an avid drummer with both The Queens Own Rifles of Canada and the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Corps of Drums. He lived a full life after leaving the military, enjoying taking his grand-dogs for walks, gardening, cooking, swimming, crosswords and always had a book nearby to read. He was the ultimate sports fan cheering on his favourite teams as well as the proud Gramps cheering on his beloved granddaughters playing on all their sports teams. Gary was a long-time Legion member with the Pro Patria Branch and for a time, was a Sgt-at-arms and participated in many parades. Gary was loving, generous and supportive to all of his family—past and present—and we will so miss his funny, contagious laugh and sense of humour. Nighty-night darling—see you tomorrow.
